Wick can burn bright under Sheehan in King George
TIME TO SAY THANK HEW

HEWICK and Midas-touch jockey Gavin Sheehan get the vote to spring a surprise in the Ladbrokes King George VI Chase (2.30) at Kempton today.

With regular jockey Jordan Gainford sidelined by fractured vertebrae, the eight-year-old's trainer Shark Hanlon has turned to Sheehan, on a high after recent Saturday wins aboard Datsalrightgino in the Coral Gold Cup at Newbury and Fugitif in Cheltenham's December Gold Cup, to take the mount.

The combination can be backed at 16-1 with the big-race sponsor generous odds given that doubts cloud each of Hewick's five opponents.
