USELESS ex-PM Liz Truss accused Joe Biden of being "asleep at the wheel" as she spoke to a convention of Donald Trump supporters.

The 49-day premier who crashed the economy and made Britain a laughing stock around the world, flew to Washington and virtually endorsed the former President to return to power.

She told a half-empty room at the Conservative Political Action Conference: "We have enabled Vladimir Putin by not taking action early enough when he could have been stopped.

Accusing Biden, 81, of sleeping at the wheel, she said: "Instead of projecting strength we projected weakness. We need a Republican back in the White House. We need it desperately." Trump, 77, is firm favourite to win the Republican nomination.
