Mills: We will have stronger squad to defend T20 world crown than 50-over side

TYMAL MILLS says England's T20 squad are in better shape to defend their World Cup crown than the one-day side which flopped in India.

England's grip on both World Cups in white-ball formats ended in a whimper with the side skippered by Jos Buttler (below) managing just three wins from their nine matches.

But looking forward to the T20 title defence here in the Caribbean and USA this June, Mills believes there are reasons to be more hopeful.

"I know for a fact every single person coming back to the Caribbean next summer to defend the T20 trophy will be very, very keen and doing everything they can to do that," he said.

"We've a lot of very experienced T20 players and there won't be a shortage of players playing T20 cricket in the lead-up to the World Cup. In 50-over cricket that maybe wasn't the case.

"We have these games against West Indies now and the boys will be playing franchise cricket all around the world for the next six months.
