Indi's parents' anguish as tot dies in hospice

THE parents of tragic Indi Gregory have told of their heartbreak and fury after the tot died in her mum's arms at a hospice yesterday.

Dean Gregory and Claire Staniforth had lost a lengthy legal battle against a hospital to take their eight-month-old daughter to Italy to treat her mitochondrial disease. Doctors there claimed they may be able to prolong her life.

The couple also failed to persuade the court to allow her life-support machine to be switched off at their home rather than the hospice. Announcing Indi's death, Dean said: "Claire and I are angry, heartbroken and ashamed.
