Amad, Harry Maguire, Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelof and Tom Heaton are all out of contract in June.
United have still not triggered the one-year extension in the contract of Amad, who has emerged as one of their most important players this season.
The 22-year-old has started in ten of United's last 13 games and scored the winner in the Manchester derby away to City last month.
United head coach Ruben Amorim said four weeks ago that United "will find a solution" to extend Amad's stay.
The winger has also outlined his desire to sign a new contract.
The failure to extend Amad's deal before the January transfer window is a surprise.
