ALMOST one in six Scots is now languishing on an NHS waiting list.
The most recent figures from Public Health Scotland show that a record high of more than 840,000 Scots are waiting on tests, outpatient appointments or operations - an annual rise of seven per cent.
Some 87,916 have been waiting more than a year for treatment.
