HOLIDAYMAKERS have been warned they face "significant" delays in the delivery of travel documents after it was revealed more than 1000 Passport Office workers will go on strike for five weeks.
The Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union, which represents civil servants, announced the escalation in industrial action and accused the Government of failing to&nbsp;talks The walk-out will start on April 3 in Glasgow, Durham, Liverpool, London, Newport, Peterborough and Southport, lasting until May 5.
Workers at the Belfast office could also join the strike engage in "meaningful" over pay and conditions.&nbsp;subject to a ballot which closes over the weekend.
The PCS warned yesterday the action is likely to have a "likely to have a significant impact on the delivery of passports as the summer approaches".
