BRITAIN faces a retirement time bomb as key workers burn out long before the new later pensionable age, a union warned.

Government ministers have been urged to rethink plans to raise the retirement age to 68 in move that would affect workers currently aged 46 to 54.

Many in vital roles would be physically and mentally unable to work that long, Unite found.
