Conservation charity WildFish said the claim on fish farms is "blatant and misleading greenwashing".
WildFish and Coastal Communities Network Scotland (CCN), raised eco concerns around industrial&nbsp;salmon farming including the impact of parasites and escaped fish on wild salmon and high levels of mortality on fish farms.
A record 16 million salmon died prematurely in cages last year amid threats from micro-jellyfish blooms, lice, disease and climate change.
The submission to the Competition and Markets&nbsp;Authority (CMA) also highlighted pollution of the sea by toxic chemicals and antibiotics used in open-sea cages and the processing of millions of tons of wild-caught fish into feed for farmed salmon.
A spokesman for Salmon Scotland said: "This is simply the latest stunt from two anti-salmon organisations campaigning to ban the Scottish salmon sector."
