A&E is facing 'catastrophe' in the winter

WARNING ON SHOCK HEALTH FIGURES

SCOTLAND’S NHS is facing a “winter catastrophe” as the latest figures show in excess of 6000 patients waited more than 12 hours at A&E departments in October. 

While the Scottish Government set a target of having at least 95 per cent of patients in A&E either admitted, transferred or discharged within four hours, this happened only in just over two-thirds (68.3 per cent) of cases.
