TWENTY female medical students in Afghanistan have been left "suicidal" because the UK Government has not allowed them to come to Scotland.
The trainee doctors had been offered the chance to study in Scotland but Westminster has not opened up a route for them to come.
The young women were forced to give up medicine after the Taliban banned women from attending university in December.
They are now effectively living under house arrest as they cannot go out without a male chaperone.
