It comes at the start of a crunch year, with elections in countries that represent&nbsp;60 percent of the global populations, including the UK, the US and India.
Experts are increasingly concerned about the danger from Al-generated content, including photos and videos, which can appear genuine.
Saadia Zahidi, The World Economic Forum's managing director, said: "An unstable global order&nbsp;characterised by polarising narratives and insecurity, the worsening impacts of extreme weather and economic uncertainty are causing accelerating risks - including misinformation and disinformation - to propagate."
The WEF's study, produced by Zurich Insurance Group, is based on views from nearly 1500 experts from around the world.
