Reminiscing about his time in the Scouts, when the troop would visit Loch Lomond and play on the famed bonnie banks, he said: "I remember standing by the shores of Loch Lomond, Inversnaid, and the sky was beautiful.
"I remember that line, I forget whose line it is: 'Breathes there the man, with soul so dead, who never to himself hath said, this is my own, my native land.
