BLADE ATTACK MURDER HUNT

A MURDER investigation was launched yesterday after a man died and another was found injured at a community centre.

William Copeland, 36, was pronounced dead at the scene in Burnbank Centre in Hamilton on Monday.

A 59-year-old man was rushed to hospital by ambulance. His condition is unknown.

Police said William's death was being treated as murder and a 56-year-old man had been arrested.

Emergency services went to the centre after receiving reports of an alleged knife attack at about 5.30pm on Monday.

Road closures were put in place as teams of forensic officers combed the scene.

Members of the public were asked to avoid the area as police taped off surrounding streets.

Pictures showed a large cordon surrounded by multiple emergency service vehicles.
