BLOCK LOMOND

Loch Lomond park authority recommended that Flamingo Land's controversial plans should not go ahead.

It marks a seismic win for those campaigning for years to block the development.

However, a final decision is still to be made by park bosses at a showdown public meeting later this month The proposal by Yorkshirebased theme park operator Flamingo Land is the most objected to planning application of all time, according to the Greens. More than 150,000 people lodged objections to the "damaging and destructive plan", say the Greens, via a petition.

It has also been opposed by the National Trust for Scotland, Woodland Trust and Ramblers Scotland as well as the local community council.
