Detectives were called to Braxfield Terrace, Lanark, at 10pm on Wednesday, where an unidentified man was found dead inside.
The quiet residential street was taped off by investigating officers yesterday morning.
One neighbour told the&nbsp;Record how a bloodied man wearing only underwear was seen screaming for help in the street before emergency services were called.
She said: "We heard him coming out into the street last night. He was standing there in only his boxer shorts covered in blood and screaming for help.
"Then he went back into&nbsp;the house and my neighbour phoned emergency services." She said a man had moved into the house last week.

A police spokesperson said: "The death is currently being treated as suspicious.&nbsp;Officers are following a positive line of inquiry.
