Gemmill urges his kids to force their way into Clarke's plans for Germany

SCOT GEMMILL has told his Scotland Under-21 stars to start hunting down a place with the senior squad at next summer's Euro finals.

The dark blues head coach believes appearing at Germany 2024 is a realistic goal for his batch of players and it's the carrot he will be using in the months ahead as he plots a path towards the Under-21 European Championship Finals.

Max Johnston has become the ninth player to be promoted from the younger squad into Steve Clarke's set-up and Gemmill, below, is adamant there is no glass ceiling for any player with a big-stage ambition.

He said: "Can a place with Scotland in Germany be a carrot to be used for these players? Definitely. It's massive and it's achievable.
