BRAVE AMBER IS HOME FOR XMAS

A GIRL of five will be at home for Christmas after spending last year in hospital with a life-threatening that needed 29 condition surgeries.

Amber McRae, from East Kilbride, was unable to spend the festive period with her family last year because she was in hospital undergoing a gruelling and risky skull expansion operation.

She has spina bifida and hydrocephalus, with surgery serving as her last chance to bring down the pressure in her head and save her life.

Mum Leanne Belch stayed by her side throughout, with dad Paul and big sister Laila visiting every day.
