THE Proclaimers have been forced to cancel the remainder of their UK tour after Charlie Reid lost his voice.
Charlie and his twin Craig have scrapped nine gigs across the country as he is unable to sing.
The 61-year-old suffered a perforated eardrum and doctors have advised him not to perform.
The Edinburgh-born singers had been due to play Belfast, Swansea, Devon, Somerset, Bury and Birmingham.
Charlie said: "I'm very sorry I can't play these shows and thank everyone for all the fantastic support over this tour."
The gigs were the final dates of the band's Dentures Out tour that began in June 2022 and had seen them play 96 shows so far.
The Proclaimers rose to prominence in the late 80s after appearing on Channel 4's The Tube.
Their single Letter from America peaked at No3 and their debut album This Is the Story was a top seller.
Their follow-up album Sunshine on Leith featured I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles), I'm On My Way and title track Sunshine on Leith all of which have gone on to become anthems.
A stage musical featuring their songs, called Sunshine on Leith, was written in 2007 and adapted as a feature film bearing the same name in 2013.
