ANDY MURRAY has been handed an extra day to get fit for the Wimbledon singles after getting drawn to play world No.38 Tomas Machac on Tuesday.
The Scot’s injury nightmare this season started when he ruptured ankle ligaments against the Czech at the Miami Open in March.
Now the two-time champ is bidding to return to action only 10 days after undergoing surgery to remove a spinal cyst.
Murray, 37 , said on Wednesday that he is “more likely” not to play singles “right now ”. And the Murray brothers yesterday drew Aussie pairing John Peers and Rinky Hijikata in the men’s doubles later in the week.
But the former world No.1 did say he will leave any decision on the singles until “the very last moment”.
