A COKED-UP driver was 16 times the legal drug limit when he was caught behind the wheel of his car.
Jamie Mallinson, 34, was pulled over by cops as he drove his Seat Ibiza in Bilston, Midlothian, in October.
Officers said he was "immediately&nbsp;argumentative and constantly talking" and was drug-tested.
A blood test later showed he had.
800mg of a cocaine derivative called benzoylecgonine in his bloodstream. The limit is 50mg.
Benzoylecgonine is a substance made when the body breaks down cocaine.
At Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday, Mallinson, of Penicuik, Midlothian, pled guilty to drug-driving.
Defence agent Gordon Stewart said his client, who is unemployed, had held a driving licence for 17 years.
He said Mallinson "voluntarily surrendered his licence for medical reasons, adding that his client had a back operation this year.
Sentence was deferred on Mallinson until next month for reports.
