The graffiti artist delighted his many fans with the big reveal yesterday.
The stencils exhibition, CUT &amp; RUN, will be held from Sunday at the Gallery of Modern Art with its Duke of Wellington statue in front of it, with a traffic cone permanently on its head.
Unauthorised exhibitions have popped up internationally without the Girl with Balloon artist's involvement and he added: "While the unauthorised Banksy shows might look like sweepings from my studio floor, CUT &amp; RUN really is the actual sweepings from my studio floor."
The welcome sign at the exhibition reads: "Welcome. If nothing else, you're going to see one masterpiece today, you just walked by it.
It's my favourite work of art in the UK and the reason I've brought the show here."
Gareth James, museum manager at GoMA said: "This has been a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work with an artist who has been challenging people over 25 years."
