Edwin McLaren,58, told judge Lord Arthurson that proceedings in the long running case are having a negative impact on him.
The High Court in Edinburgh also heard him describe the action to recover his ill-gotten gains - as "malicious".
He said the action was stopping him and his wife Lorraine from accessing their pensions and had deprived his daughter of a quantity of jewellery.
The court heard Police Scotland had seized the jewellery during the probe into his and his wife Lorraine's activities.
McLaren asked Lord Arthurson to dismiss the action. However, the judge refused to grant the request and ordered the crooked couple to return to court for another hearing next month.
The pair, from Bridge of Weir, Renfrewshire, were responsible for Scotland's longest ever criminal trial.
McLaren was jailed for 11 years in 2017 for his involvement in the fraud.
Lorraine, also 58, was found guilty of two charges involving a fraudulent mortgage application and money laundering. She was freed from jail after nine months.
