Cop is sacked after trying to take teen girl from Scotland

A FORMER police officer has been banned from the service for life after attempting to take a teenage girl from Scotland to his home in Yorkshire.

PC Craig Jackson, 30, was in regular contact with the girl online and by phone for two years, starting when she was 15.

He later tried to take her to his home in England but was stopped at the Scottish Border. He is now living with the teenager after she eloped when she turned 18.

At a disciplinary hearing in March, Jackson was banned from serving as a police officer again after he was found to have breached the "standards of professional behaviour" and "discreditable conduct at the level of gross misconduct" at a misconduct hearing.
