Police drop 'no-threat' investigations

COPS WILL NOT PROBE ALL CRIME

SOME crimes will no longer be investigated as part of a Police Scotland pilot scheme.

Incidents with no "associated threat, risk, harm or vulnerability" and no lines of inquiry won't be probed in the north-east.

Police Scotland announced the initiative, citing cuts to their budget in recent years.

They said the pilot mirrors how officers worked in the Grampian region before the unified force was formed in 2013.
