COUNCILLOR FACES CHILD PICS CHARGE

A FORMER Labour councillor is to face trial accused of downloading indecent images of children.

Ewan Dillon, 21, who represents Bridge of Allan and Dunblane on Stirling Council , switched to being an independent in October 2022.

He was only 19 when he was elected in May of that year.

At Stirling Sheriff Court yesterday, Dillon, of the city’s Market Street, denied a single charge under the Civic Government (Scotland) act 1982 which bans the “taking or making of any indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph” of children – the offence commonly known as downloading.
