CULL DEER TO SAVE FORESTS

ECO experts have claimed long-term deer culling could kickstart regeneration of our under-threat native woods.

The Cairngorms Connect Partnership found trees such as native pinewoods could be restored at huge scale with minimal fencing and planting in a major boost to climate efforts.

But experts said this will require numbers of red and roe deer to be kept down to sustainable levels amid a recent explosion in numbers.
