Dog swerve crash death nurse gets tag and ban

A NURSE who knocked down and killed a grandad walking his dog has avoided jail.

Pamela Kennedy, 35, struck Martin Cawley, 64, and his dog, Zoe, as they crossed a road in Glasgow in February last year.

She claimed she swerved her red Nissan Micra to avoid hitting Zoe and did not see her owner.

Kennedy gave Martin CPR at the scene in Wellhouse and was heard to say: "Don't do this to me, you have got to live. This will affect my job if you die." Kennedy was found guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court of causing Martin's death by careless driving.
