The deadly 24-year-old netted 51 times in 98 games for Roda JC over the last two-and-a-half seasons in Holland's second tier.
That prolific form won him plenty of admirers and Hibs have shelled out a reported £700,000 fee to win the race for his signature ahead of the likes of Coventry City, Sunderland and Palermo.
He has been brought to Easter Road to replace Scotland internationalist Kevin Nisbet, who left for Millwall in a £2million move earlier this summer.
