THE Tory Government’s decision to allow new drilling for oil and gas was challenged in court by eco groups yesterday.
Greenpeace claimed ministers fai led to consider the greenhouse gas emissions which could result from new licences for extraction in the North Sea. The group brought a legal challenge in the UK High Court after ministers opened a new round of oil and gas licensing off the north and east coast of Britain last October.
