FAR RIGHT LEADER JAILED FOR 18 MONTHS

FAR-RIGHT activist Tommy Robinson has been jailed for 18 months after admitting contempt of court by repeating false claims against a Syrian refugee.

Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, was accused of deliberately breaching an order preventing him from accusing Jamal Hijazi of attacking schoolgirls.

Aidan Eardley KC, for the Solicitor General, said: "The harm here is that millions of people could see Mr YaxleyLennon thumbing his nose at the court.

"This is not a case about Mr Yaxley-Lennon's political views.

"It is not even directly a case about freedom of expression.
