Former SNP leader reveals niece and nephew racing her to pass road test

NICOLA Sturgeon has told how she has swapped political battles for friendly family ones - as she's learning to drive and is in a race with her niece and nephew to qualify first.

Sturgeon, who announced her resignation as first minister and leader of the Scottish National Party in February, revealed she has now taken up driving at the age of 53.

But her younger sister Gillian's youngest son and daughter have triggered some friendly rivalry as they seek to pass their test before their famous aunt - who fears her driving abilities are such that they will probably succeed.
