FLAMETHROW ATTACK THUG ESCAPES JAIL

A NEIGHBOUR from hell who pulled a makeshift flamethrower on his rival has avoided jail.

Philip White, 33, confronted his neighbour in the street with a knife before going back indoors and returning with an improvised flamethrower.

White, who also hurled discriminatory abuse, targeted George Nicoll and Lesley Connelly in the street as their feud escalated.

But White was allowed to walk free after Dundee Sheriff Court heard there had been no further incidents and the accused had moved away.
