FORE YEAR WAIT

STEPHEN GALLACHER'S incredible 1425-day wait to defend the Hero Indian Open ends this week in New Delhi.

It's just 36 days shy of four years since Gallacher captured a fourth DP World Tour success with son Jack on the bag in the Indian capital.

In the event's long absence, mostly due to Covid, the Scot has played in his 600th DP World Tour event.

But he has managed just two top-20s in his ensuing 73 events and forfeited automatic Tour membership at the end of last year for only the second time in 24 years.

He was ranked 208th in the world when winning in India but returns currently outside the top 800.
