Dylan out to grab spotlight at Hibs in favourite position

DYLAN VENTE reckons he is finally capable of going on a scoring run after being played in his best position.

The Hibs striker notched only his second goal since September with a first-half penalty in Saturday's crucial victory over Dundee.

Vente has found life difficult after arriving from Roda JC last summer.

Part of that is getting to grips with Scottish football but the 24-year-old concedes his struggles in front of goal are also a result of not being utilised as an out-and-out striker.

Amid injuries and personnel issues, gaffer Nick Montgomery has tried several variations in the attacking third. But Vente hopes he sticks with the one that yielded the win over the Dark Blues.

He said: "It's been a while since I scored, everybody knows it, including me. So it was a good feeling.

"I was playing more as the highest striker, so it felt good. I got more chances so it was a good day for me.

"I've played my whole life as an out-and-out striker. In the first half of the season (Martin) Boyley had to play as the striker too. I understand
