DOWNTON Abbey's Phyllis Logan has told how playing a criminal mastermind in hit series Guilt has left her family calling her a b***h.
Paisley-born Logan, best known for her&nbsp;role as Mrs Hughes in Downton as well as for playing Lady Jane Felsham in Lovejoy, said she has played righteous characters for most of her career.
Now she is playing crime boss Maggie in the award-winning drama starring Mark Bonnar and Jamie Sives and is loving every second of being the baddie.
Logan, who won a Scottish Bafta for her role in Guilt, said: "It's always nice to do something different. Maggie is out of my usual playing range.
"I suppose she is a bit of a mastermind. It's great fun to be a meanie. It's been funny with my family seeing me and saying, 'You're a bit of ab word, aren't you?'
"With each character you play, there's something of yourself in there and I could also relate to characters back in my childhood who had a nip to them."
Logan, 67, who is married to Stonehouse star Kevin McNally, enjoyed returning to Edinburgh to film Guilt's third and final series.
She admitted she would miss Bonnar and Sives.
She said: "They're so funny, the pair of them. You do have to control yourself not to burst out laughing and ruin everything."
