THE Borders town of Galashiels has been named Scotland's happiest place to live.
Property website Rightmove asked people throughout the UK how they felt about where - they live.
The historic textiles town beat Inverness, Dumfries, Dundee, and Perth to the top spot in Scotland. Galashiels was 15th across the UK, where Richmond upon Thames toppped the poll of more than 26,000 people.
