ONE giant leap won Olympic gold for Greg Rutherford in 2012, now he is hoping that another can help him claim the Dancing On Ice title.
The long jump champ, 37, will hurl ice partner Vanessa James into the air while he skates backwards on tomorrow's show.
Greg said: "After I throw Vanessa in the air and keep skating, she'll do two full rotations, before I catch her again." It's a move usually only seen at the top levels of ice skating. Greg added: "It's mad that only a few weeks ago I was struggling to stay on my feet, now we're going to attempt a trick performed at the&nbsp;Olympics." The move takes a lot of practice but also a lot of faith in his ability, as Canadian pro Vanessa, 36, is putting her career in his hands.
The responsibility is not lost on Greg.&nbsp;"I panic about hurting her all the time, he confessed. "I'm a tall guy&nbsp;so there's a long way to fall. But there's a fearlessness in Vanessa that's infectious.
"She is pushing me to be the best I can possibly be and I love that about her." Greg, who lives near Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, with partner Susie and their three children, said he is enjoying the ITV series more than when Strictly Come Dancing in 2016.
