SIR Ian McKellen is in “good spirits” after falling off the stage during a performance in London’s West End.
A theatregoer said the actor, 85, let out a “blood-curdling scream” and cried “help me” as staff rushed to his aid.
Sir Ian, starring in Player Kings, was rushed to hospital after his fall at the Noel Coward Theatre on Monday evening.
A theatre spokesman said: “Thank you to our audience and the general public for their well-wishes following Ian’s fall.
“Following a scan, the brilliant NHS team have assured us that he will make a speedy and full recovery and Ian is in good spirits.”
