A HIT-and-run killer who lit a cigarette then "took off" after mowing down a man on a zebra crossing is facing jail.
Craig Smart, 44, a former striker with Montose FC, smashed into Army veteran Dave McArthur in Cardenden, Fife.
The dad-of-two was thrown nearly 10 metres, landing on the pavement and suffering a severe head injury, a trial heard.
Dave, 43, who helped people overcome addictions, died in hospital two days later.
