HUMZA: A LABOUR MINORITY WIN 'BEST OUTCOME FOR SCOTS

HUMZA Yousaf has admitted a minority Labour government would be the "best outcome" for people in Scotland after the next general election.

The First Minister said if Keir Starmer fell short of a majority then Scotland would not be forgotten about.

The SNP is struggling to agree a strategy for the next election, which polls suggest will be won by Labour.

Former first minister Nicola Sturgeon faced an internal revolt when she suggested the election should become a "de facto" referendum on independence.

Yousaf rowed back from this approach and suggested winning a majority of Scottish seats could be a mandate for independence.

But in the clearest sign yet that his election aim is dumping the Tories from office, he explicitly backed a Labour government.
