I DID NOTHING WRONG AND I'LL BE BACK AT HOLYROOD THIS WEEK

NICOLA Sturgeon insisted she had "done nothing wrong" as she returned home for the first time since her arrest as part of the police probe into SNP finances.

The former first minister arrived at her house near Glasgow yesterday afternoon after being arrested and released last Sunday - and pleaded for "privacy" for herself and her neighbours.

Sturgeon, 52, had previously been questioned by detectives at Falkirk police station for seven hours before she was released without charge.

However, the ex-SNP leader had not been seen on her quiet suburban street until her return yesterday.

She made a statement on her arrival insisting she was innocent and saying she would return to the Scottish Parliament this week.

She told reporters: "I can't say very much just now. What I will say is I reiterate the statement I issued last Sunday, I am certain that I have done nothing wrong.

"I intend to be back in Parliament in the early part of the week and I will make myself available for questions then, obviously within the constraints that I am referring to right now.

"For now, I intend to go home and catch up with some family.
