I let all my mates at Coventry know that I'm Copen just fine

JACK BURROUGHS has become used to being sent from Coventry as he embarks on the fifth loan spell of his career with Kilmarnock.

Some of the wing-back's previous moves have been less than glamorous as he has learned his trade at Nuneaton Borough, Gloucester City, Ross County and Lincoln City. But Burroughs attracted genuine envy from his Sky Blues team-mates last week when they learned about his latest port of call.

The 23-year-old joined Killie just 48 hours before being pitched straight into the first leg of their Europa Conference League play-off tie in Copenhagen.

Despite the 2-0 defeat, which Derek McInnes' side will attempt to overturn at Rugby Park tonight, Burroughs relished the experience.

He said: "When I told the Coventry lads I was coming here, they were like "They're playing in Europe'.

"They were a bit jealous but also happy for me. My agent spoke to me a couple of times in pre-season about the possibility but the actual process of coming to Kilmarnock was quite fast.

"It has been a whirlwind so far but I've enjoyed it. It's a bit weird to come into the latter stages of the qualifying campaign and the lads have put in such a great shift to get to where we are now.

"I want to be able to contribute and hopefully get the club into the league phase and have six more European nights.
