XL bully-type on loose after horror attack

A MAN savaged by an XL bully-type dog while taking the bins out has shared his horrific ordeal as police try to trace the beast.

The huge animal lunged at John Paterson, getting up on its back legs before clamping its jaws on his cheek.

The terrified 39-year-old tried to push the dog away but it tore into his arm before he escaped and took shelter in a nearby flat stairwell.

John called emergency services and he was rushed from the scene in Kincardine, Fife, to Forth Valley Royal Hospital near Larbert in Stirlingshire, where medics said he will be scarred for life.

The dog which was not wearing a muzzle is still on the loose after Sunday's attack as police try to trace it and its owner.

John said: "The dog was a massive XL bullytype dog.

"It was with a woman and on a lead but it wasn't muzzled.

"I was just taking the bins out like I do every week when it flew at me. It got up on its back legs and stood the full height of me before it latched on to my face.
