PRESIDENTIAL hopeful Kamala Harris laid out her vision for America, saying: "Let us write the next great chapter in the greatest story ever told."
Accepting the Democrat ticket for November's election, she launched a fierce attack on Republican rival Donald Trump and promised to be President for all Americans.
A star-studded last night of the national convention in Chicago was dedicated to highlighting policies, which Vice President Harris has been criticised for not stating earlier.
Speakers took the stage to discuss gun control, national security, climate change, foreign policy, environmental justice, women's rights and race before Harris set out her vision.
She said: "Our nation has a precious, fleeting opportunity to move past the bitter, cynical and divisive battles of the past. A chance to chart a new way forward.
"Not as members of any one party or faction but as Americans. I will be a President who unites us around our highest aspirations. A President who leads and listens.
"Who is realistic, practical and has common sense. And who always fights for the people."
She called Trump "an unserious man" but warned that his return to office would be "extremely serious".
