A COMMUNITY councillor has been exposed as a rightwing online hate peddler.
Jamie Brown, chair of Invergowrie and Kingoodie Community Council near Dundee, has been accused by anti-racism group Hope Not Hate of being part of the Homeland Party.
It has encouraged its members to infiltrate parish and community councils.
Brown, a Post Office worker, previously went by the online pen name "Mean Peem".
As a community councillor, he campaigned against planned bus cuts in rural Perthshire.
The Homeland Party was formed as a splinter group from the Patriotic Alternative, the UK's most active fascist group.
Hope Not Hate said he had engaged in Holocaust denial and praised Nazis on an anti-vaccine group on Telegram.
Brown wrote: "The Nazis didn't 'wipe out all culture', that was what the allies did when they firebox [sic] education the museums and art galleries of Dresden. The 3rd reich had nothing but respect for classic European culture.
"They destroyed subversive Communist filth, they burned down Magnus Hirschfields sex change institute and the disgusting nonsense they found within. You're complaining about that?"
