SINGER Marti Pellow has revealed how he got the nickname "smiler" aged just three.
The 58-year-old former Wet Wet Wet frontman, whose real name is Mark McLachlan, said the only photo of him as a kid was taken in 1968.
His mum Margaret paid for a photo of him after a "man from the local Co-op" came knocking.
Marti, who released his debut solo album Smile in 2001, said his cheeky grin in the photo earned him his moniker.
