STEVIE MAY reckons the rookies at St Johnstone's need just one result to get their league careers rocking.

Saints are desperate for a change of fortune after an awful Viaplay Cup then failing to win in the Premiership. It's been a tough start for the Perth pups brought in by Steven MacLean.

Experienced striker May admits it's daunting for new young signings in a struggling side. He felt it as a 21-year-old at Sheffield Wednesday - until hitting his first goal three games after a £800,000 move.

Seven of Saints' 11 summer signings are 23 or under and when asked how vital a victory over Livi might be for the new arrivals, May said: "It would be massive for them.
