Brownlie insists Hibs must find boss who will get team playing in a manner befitting of club

NO LEE WAY

JOHN BROWNLIE sat among the fans at Easter Road last week feeling every bit as short-changed as them as their timid Hibs team failed to lay a finger on Aston Villa.

Battered 5-0 on their home turf, the club legend couldn't accept the weak approach of Lee Johnson's team.

And Brownlie insists it's imperative that whoever replaces the axed Englishman, they give punters bang for their hard-earned buck.

Caretaker manager David Gray takes them to the Midlands for the second leg of a Europa Conference League play-off that's already done and dusted.

Brownlie had a ringside seat in Leith seven days ago as Hibs were beaten senseless by the Premier League outfit.

The former hero knows the Villans are far better than Hibs but the meek manner of the performance as well as the set-up struck a chord.

Brownlie was a fearsome right-back who, allied with his outstanding quality, gained his status among supporters and admiration of the biggest figures within the game because he never shirked a challenge.
