PETER WRIGHT hopes to ease the Tartan Army's Euro 2024 pain by giving stragglers a World Cup win to celebrate.

Snakebite and partner Gary Anderson are hunting a second success at the event and could have unlikely additional backing in Germany.

Seven days ago, Tartan Army members gatecrashed the European Open in Leverkusen and sang Flower of Scotland during play.

Although Steve Clarke's men exited the Euros two nights later after losing to Hungary, some footsoldiers who had hoped to be seeing their heroes in the last 16 remain.
